We at the UFA are providing a competition for the Fitness Athlete that has something for everyone that has a desire to test their mettle against all those that step up to the plate or better yet “Get under the bar.”
We have long desired to see a competition that is based in the movements that you can find in every gym around the nation and the World. We have compiled these challenges for you “The Strength and Fitness Athlete” to claim your spot among those that ache to see how good they really are. We realize this is not for everyone and we don’t claim to be everything for everybody, but in this arena the UFA seeks to highlight all those Strength and Fitness Athletes in all the gyms around the World.
The UFA will ensure all of our athletes have a level playing field and are competing against their peers. All competitions have the same categories for an athlete to enter:
- The Open: Compete against all Comers. Anyone who enters this competition wants to see how they do against anyone who enters this category who is in their weight class regardless of age! If you are 35, 40 or 50 years old and think you are just as good as the 21 year old, Well the UFA says “Go For It”.
- Age & Weight Groups: Just like Bodybuilding you will compete against the person that is in your weight class and your age.
- General Rules
We all know these specialist they claim they can do that one exercise better than anyone else, they may not have a collection of movements they do well, but to them, they do this one thing very well. This competition is also a great place to start your journey to evolve into the larger competitions. One step at a time. The UFA wants to recognize the Solo Specialist as the name says they are a Specialist.

- Bench Press 2. Push Ups 3. Pull Ups 4. Squats
FANTASTIC FITNESS FIVE
This competition is the entry level competitions so one can start to get a handle on what it is like moving from one challenge after the other with the standard recovery period of 3 minutes. Many claim these Five Movements are all one needs to do when working out to improve their physique and fitness levels. That being perhaps this is “your” competition to prove you are King or Queen of this Hill.
This is the order in which the athlete will perform all (5) challenges with the standard 3 minute performance time, 3 minute recovery time.
- Bench Press 2. Squat 3. Pull Up 4. Deadlift 5. Push Up
The Fitathlon™ is the premier UFA competition. This has been created with the help of athletes from all genres which include boxers, football players, track & field , soccer, baseball, wrestlers and bodybuilders. The Fitathlon™ has 18 different challenges in which each challenge has a 3 minute performance period and then the athlete is given 3 minutes recovery time until they must start the next challenge.
The Strengthathlon™ is for all those Strength athletes that do not want to sprint, run, jump or perform agility drills. Or perhaps injuries simply prevent these type of activities but fear not you will not be left out. The Strengthathlon™ has 15 challenges in which each challenge has a 3 minute performance period and then the athlete is given 3 minutes recovery time until they must start the next challenge.
